“ Hi, I’m Maria, the owner. I’ve been in the industry for more than 25 years. My journey started in Buenos Aires where my entire family are hairdressers. I grew up in a salon watching at my mom and auntie doing perms and henna in the 80’s. Yeah! I know what a voluminous and frizzy perm is! Nobody told me, I saw it!
For that reason, a salon is like home for me. A safe place where you hang out with people you like, I want you to feel at home as well.
So, I worked for several years on TV and theatre helping create the look of the characters, as well as photoshoots and catwalks. Amazing experience, long hours and lovely people.
Afterwards I worked in Barcelona for 12 years. Ohhhh don’t get me started! I got to work at the Label.m Technical Centre in Spain where the Toni and Guy international Artistic Team used to deliver workshops for the whole country, as well as participating with them in catwalks in Barcelona. I fell in love with them. I remember, also, going to the beach after work or having a beer at the bar al fresco with friends. I know!…What am I doing in UK with this weather, right? Hahaha. It’s what people usually ask!
Well, I followed my dream of getting to work in Toni and Guy in the UK. And I did! I got trained by them, got to know some of the most inspirational and professional colleagues and educators there. They will be forever in my heart.
And.. the most important thing… I fell in love with my clients! I just think you are the most funny, clever and respectful individuals.
So it is time for me to give back all the good things to you. Red Door Hair Studio is for individuals that want to be happy, confident, not judged, stay healthy physically and mentally, feel good and share values with like minded people.
